Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition
I'm not sure you can argue that it isn't. The country was created by violent insurrection -- aren't most of them? Beyond there, revolts have happened from time to time, obviously with the biggest one resulting in the Civil War. That is American tradition.
I'd argue the difference between, say, the Boston Tea Party and Civil Rights riots, is the former is people fighting for their own rights and the latter a fight to take away other people's rights.
