I'm no Biden fan but this sort of thing always annoys me. 52000 jobs is not within the range of what the president should be influencing. If an executive decision doesn't gain or lose at least a hundred thousand jobs it's not that important as far as jobs go. And jobs aren't what we should be aiming for anyway, that leads to makework, inefficiencies, featherbedding, and unnecessary projects.

That’s because this is point of rhetoric, not a dialectic argument. It’s clearly meant as a response to the “trump is responsible for 200,000 covid deaths” claim and is equally nonsensical. Rhetoric isn’t meant to decide rational policy, it’s meant to influence public opinion and, like it or not, is a crucial tool of politics and persuasion.
