The point is to get everyone into a single group which does multiple things for their spy network.
1) It makes it easier to keep track of people because they are now all congregating at the same location. All of your social media is a domestic version of the software, and you are providing the intel to it free of charge.
2) It allows disinfo to spread faster because more people are exposed to it allowing them to control narratives. Even if it allows good info to be spread just as fast it serves its intended purpose in keeping you guessing or not believing anything.
3) Being even loosly associated with a fed post or false flag event automatically exposes you to legal investigation. Most people will buckle under even the slightest scrutiny. They will take horrible deals, even if they are not guilty, or say dumb shit and fuck everyone else if they think they can get out from under the axe being waved over their heads.
