I think what's going on is they're prepping to take the guns. They think that when they pass the laws, they'll be targeted, and they're correct. EDIT: I don't want violence, but I want to keep my liberty (what's left of it). So, what would you do if it looked like a government was about to take your guns and throw you in concentration camps (covid camps)? Would you start killing those trying to imprison you? What's the option?
