This isn't new. In college in the '90s I had a math class with an Indian professor whose accent was so strong I couldn't understand anything she was saying. I was already having trouble with the math and adding a language barrier wasn't doing anything to help, so I requested a transfer. When I told the school why they attacked me for being a racist.
