I haven't used IRC for 20 years. Thinking of getting back into it. ircii under linux with screen so I can reconnect from anywhere. Should we setup a poal IRC channel; on EFNET? What are our options now.

Matrix. It's end-to-end encrypted, you can host your own, you can federate or not federate. Way better than IRC which is 100% unsecure.

I run a fully encrypted, invite-only, chat server. Keeps the glowies out.
