Exactly, and the whole gab thing (independent of whatever Torba is really about) demonstrates that, until "common carrier" laws are extended to the internet, we are essentially pushed to create a vertically-integrated isolated communication medium (domain hosting, DNS registration, ISP, web hosting, payment processor, content delivery network, etc) because these monopolies just drop you for "TOS violations" and there is little regulation of what rights TOSs can and can't sign away.
Your landline provider cannot cut your line because they don't like what you say on it.
While I agree with you, I know that it won't happen, they will not let it happen. We have to find new technologies and new methods that bypass what they do. Example, I have been rejected from every payment processor I've tried to use. I'm forced to get to a point where I am trying to think like a drug dealer in order to accept donations. I'll find a way but I have to think like a criminal to do it. Essentially thats what will have to happen for our own platform to work, we have to make it impossible for them to use current systems to shut us down. So I'll keep trying to think outside the box to find ways to keep this going.
What if you create a search engine for poal but keep it separate then accept donations for the search engine to keep poal running
I actually have a similar idea currently in the works.
