A big part of me agrees with you, but at this point every move seems to be the wrong move. We rebel and we are demonized and used to justify all the shit they are planning. We don't rebel and they get everything they want anyway but slower.
Is it possible we are in a no win scenario? I don't believe these people are perfect, so until I find out they are actually taking their orders from a super computer, I'll say no.
