I don't think Pence will betray Trump I think Pence probably thinks he's simply is not legally allowed to do what Trump is asking him. Pence is a very religious man and he will do whatever he feels is genuinely right.
"gosh and golly gee, we tried to beat the mean ol nasty dems but gosh darn it, they just kept blocking us, and we stand on principle!"
Thats the party line. Thats not gonna work anymore. Ain't gonna fly. That cards played out.
I'd tell them "go head, play that card, see if the american people accept that."
My bet, and its a pretty solid bet, but just a gut hunch: that card goes horribly horribly fucking sideways.
Look, the right technically already disengaged from the republican/gop establishment. The rightwing of the DNC has been thinking if the right loses, they'll piss and moan and do nothing, that even being disenfranchised and politically suppressed, the right wouldn't disengaged from the political process like the bernie bros did in MN.
But they missed a really crucial detail: the right already disengaged from the political process in all but name, along with the republican party in general, counter intuitively, when they elected donald trump.
Removing him isn't gonna dampen the national sentiment.
It's gonna be like hammering a crack on a steam boiler.
