Here's the thing about being in the military or police- you are educated on the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
One of the things that you are oathbound to do, is DISOBEY ILLEGAL ORDERS.
For example, let's say Captain Commie orders Private Peter to execute some random civilian who was out shopping for groceries. While Pvt Peter has indeed sworn to obey the orders of his officers, he has also sworn to disobey illegal orders. If force is used on a soldier or police officer in the attempt to get them to carry out an illegal order, the soldier/cop is allowed (or even compelled) by law to use force to stop this.
Snowden uncovered an illegal operation being run by the US government. He is duty-bound to report on it and stop it, if possible.
Police need to wise up to this shit, quickly. They've been enforcing illegal orders for decades, and they're kept so busy, kept so focused on just surviving and dealing with the day-to-day mundane bits of being a cop, that they don't have time to question this shit.
