Sven Longshanks
takes a final look at the
Law Commission consultation
on expanding England’s hate speech laws.
The removal of the right to free speech and freedom of conscience that these proposed changes will make will have huge consequences for democracy.
If they pass, it means it would be illegal to protest any government policy that concerned minorities or to speak in anything but an unflattering way about them.
It could also mean a minority had a legal defence for violently attacking anyone who says something they don’t like, as they would be trying to prevent a crime from happening.
If you want to help try and prevent this, please answer the questions you are able to
HERE
and get it sent back by December 24th.
