You Realize the Universal Basic Income Is Feudalism, Right?
https://thedailycoin.org/2017/01/10/realize-universal-basic-income-feudalism-right/
Sure, money for nothing sounds great on the surface.
But what would the real result of a Universal Basic Income be?
Feudalism. Serfdom. Enslavement.
Without even getting into the system it would ultimately generate, think of the individuals it would generate
Btw I'm not saying working your ass off in a shitty position is necessarily better, for the individual, but here is the deal; One gets paid, rewarded, for not improving anything basically, just staying as he/she is. That's how the brain interprets it. He gets rewarded for just being what he/she is, no matter how flawed on any given level the individual is, the "system" factually rewards him for that exact level of "accomplishment"... It's not an ideal start/incentive for personal improvement, to say the least.... To begin with.
Of course you would still get people busy working on their personal geekry/hobby and for some yeah, they might actually reach some success/recognition in whatever field they are digging
But what about the vast majority? They would probably end on the couch 24/7, watching tv
...
Now, from a pragmatical "Power that be" point of view; "is this really a good idea to pay people to just have all the time in the world to prepare and organize and fund an actual fucken revolution, like fucking spoiled antifa rich kids, because they just happen to have nothing "better" to do all day long? At least when they are busy looking for a job or working, they don't have time to do their own researches..."
Ponder that
What happens when everyone is paid the same, then the cost of products etc rise. No one will be able to afford anything because their pay is frozen???
Idk, I guess it's going to be a basis, as in "you can earn more, if you will", so you would still get a semblance of normalcy, because you aren't going to satisfy the goldmans with your shitty 2000 bucks check a month, they need more zeros so of course they are going to be allowed to get just that
Reality is that it's just an extreme form of helicopter money, it's basically going full retard with the printing press. It works for a little while until it no longer does. So yeah, prices are inevitably going to rise in that context
An even more perverse side effect, is the disappearance of work ethic. UBI is a killer when it comes to it. And once work ethic is dead for one generation or two within a given family, it usually means it's not going to make a come back anytime soon. From there you get a population of failures essentially.
As technology advances it may happen.
How can we expect people to work when all work is done by machines and computers?
The butlerian jihad comes to mind
https://dune.fandom.com/wiki/Butlerian_Jihad
>In his six original Dune novels Frank Herbert mentions few details of the Butlerian Jihad. The lesson taken by the human descendents of this war is that mankind's laziness and ingenuity can be its downfall.

>Another, more subtle justification for the Butlerian Jihad is also found in Frank Herbert's original novels, specifically Heidegger's thesis that the use of technology trains humans to think like machines. The problem is that machines are deterministic; thus, training people to be machines is self-limiting. Herbert seemed to think that to be human is to be essentially 'open-ended', capable of undiscovered, indeterminate evolution, both personally and as a species.
Good comparison.
Practically speaking, if we have autonomous semi-trucks for instance. The people who used to drive trucks aren't going to evolve beyond that line of work. They will be out of work.
And they'll be told; "Learn to code"
