We cannot trust that the next moderator picked won't be biased and simply been more careful with their social media. We shouldn't even have to worry about that.

Americans are tired of the current format, but the media likes it because it generates a lot of short sound bites with insufficient context around them to be the candidates most complete opinion. They like that because it gives them content.

But most Americans hate this format. Most politicians hate this format. A better idea is two men on a stage, with mics, and no rules. That's not even a novel idea. That's how presidential debates used to work before the media took over the political process instead of just covering it.

What we need is Trump unleashed on stage to simply attack Joe Biden on every subject the media has refused to cover for 80% of the population that watches them. We need him to have the freedom to explain why russiagate was a hoax without a representative of the media cutting him off and changing the subject. We need the candidates to be able to explain their vision for the US in more than two minute clips.

No moderator. That's the solution.

So in other words, just let the candidates duke it out on what they feel the American people should know about themselves and their opponent? I don't know if this would work for primary debates with more than two candidates. If it is just two like how it is with President Trump and former Vice President Biden, then yeah it would work.

Give everyone chess clocks. They only get to speak after they've clicked theirs on, muting everyone elses microphones.
