If you were a democrat operative and had secret recordings of Trump admitting to a wide range of heinous crimes what would you do? Obviously you would never release the tapes right? You would not ever go to Schiff and kick off a new round of Impeachment. No that would make too much sense. You would never leak the audio tapes to the press. You would write a book... that is clearly the best way to capitalize on the evidence you have.
If even 10% of the wild claims Woodward is making were true; if he had one shred of evidence, one single recording, this shit would go nuclear instantaneously. If you have bombshells like that in your back pocket you don't sit on them and write a book when the election is 50 days away.
