Coercion by threat of violence is a NAP violation. Every government regulation is a coercion by threat of violence, and the threat is provided by the existence of the police, thus the police violate the NAP just by existing.
In the absence of police, real crimes get punished by the members of the community in which they take place (lynching, for example). If you're not violating the NAP, you don't need a badge. The presence of a badge threatens violence against any would-be vigilantes.
Relying on the community to maintain a justice system is unrealistic. And gives way to mobs of thugs dominating a community that doesn't have the means to stand up to it. Also, that community would also be operating under coercion by threat of violence, if they are going to carry out justice against accused violators.
Meanwhile, weak and innocent people need people to help them be protected against active NAP violators.
mobs of thugs dominating a community
This is what the police is.
a community that doesn't have the means to stand up to it
Communities don't have the means to stand up for themselves because the police took all the guns away. This problem wouldn't exist if there had never been cops to begin with.
Also, that community would also be operating under coercion by threat of violence, if they are going to carry out justice against accused violators.
False. Carrying out justice yourself is a decision that is made willingly, it is not coerced.
Meanwhile, weak and innocent people need people to help them be protected against active NAP violators.
False. Physically weak people can defend themselves more effectively by carrying guns than by relying on others.
This is what the police is.
Completely disagree

Are you not from the US? We're having record gun sales. Nearly any adult can go buy a gun in the United States. We've never even had mass gun seizures. Even bullshit red flat laws are a rarity in per capita terms.

Carrying out justice yourself is a threatening coercion to the other members of the community. Which it is supposed to be, so it's an effective preventative measure. We weren't talking about the people carrying out justice being coerced, like cops or community members. We were talking about the coercion of people that justice is being carried out against. Police and personal justice seekers become equal in that regard. Except one won't have an organized system of trial and human rights to accompany it. Not that I'm against personal justice, but let's not act like it would be in accordance of human rights when a person gets to pick who is guilty and what punishment they will receive.

Of course they can, but that doesn't mean that people still aren't too weak to do it themselves. You think the 80 year old grandma is going to outgun me anymore than she can outfight me? And when there are three or ten of me, then her chances drop to zero. That's not even counting people that don't have the mental capacity to fight or kill. And the people's that don't have the dexterity or even physical capability of handling a firearm.
