I agree with you about the constitutional convention. I fear we'd end up with, at least, FDR's 2nd Bill of Rights and definitely threats of escalated violence if the communist manifesto wasn't codified. I feel very lucky to have grown up when and where I did. My teachers had high expectations of all students and sometimes I managed to live up to them. Not untypically, I was a bit of a self-centered prig when I was young and didn't take full advantage of what was offered to me, but they did manage to teach me how to learn and I've worked to continue doing so.
