Good question. Don't have any clue about gabs owners other than they wanted to stand up a competitor to twitter and give people a platform for seemingly free speech.
If boarders blow then they'll be pulled down by force and I'd rather much not see the US be involved with. We've fucked around in that sandbox for way too long.
