I want to knee-jerk react and cast aspersions at McConnell, but his arguments seem logical.
That said, I like how Trump plays this presidency like a game; trying anything that looks like it might achieve a win and moving on if his crazy ideas fail... much the way he's pretty much always done business. It's entertaining to watch.

That was my initial reaction as well, but they mentioned how O'bama tried this it was struck down, so I guess what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
Of course, on the other hand, Trump tends to consistently succeed where Obama failed, so it still might just work... but I think I see McConnell's point there.
