Did he learn anything?

I doubt it. Just got another flyer on my door today talking about he beat the NRA, Coal, and Tobacco, and Trump is next.

I heard him talk, he isn't as bad as I imagined, he's not an absolute retard

At the same time there's obviously a parameter he doesn't compute, while his audience does. He's a statist, and a big one, because the state has mostly been good/profitable to him. Came his way essentially

And given all the statist related shits that have happened over the years for the common man, he doesn't get that, his views on the government aren't shared by the vast majority

I think that's his main problem

He wants to pass laws that have a huge potential for absolute disaster, a huge potential for abuse, that's what people see. It's not the content of the laws he proposes that people really have a problem with. It's the fact that it's surely going to backfire and bite them in the ass in the end, as usual, that is their main concern

And he doesn't seem to get that, because he's never been in a position where he gets abused by the the government, he's financial elite

I think you're right. He's in a different class than the rank and file, and since he didn't really come up through those ranks, he has no idea how it is down here. At the very least, Trump is a businessman, and at least has an idea that things can cost you real money if you're not careful.

The one example I can cite is his desire to re-instate and expand the ACA. For everyone save those who made nothing and didn't have insurance, that program was a disaster. I can't give you one example of a working person that helped.
