Yeah. I could be wrong but I think they do it so if the left kills the guy holding the leverage, the public can see make the connection themselves. Also anyone in politics should realize any time they visit the offices of their opponents (or visit in a neutral loction), they are likely being recorded. You have to operate from that principle, always. The low-level staffing people don't get it, but who can blame them, the left doesn't hire theirs based on real smarts. But anyone who is anyone, and I mean anyone, if they're in office, and if they have two brain cells to connect, follows this policy. Always assume you're being recorded when dealing with the opposition, they're a bunch of snakes, and when in a snake pit, act like a snake. This naturally means you should expect the same from your colleagues and senators on your side of the aisle. Most want to do good, but no one wants to be at the bottom of the heap, which is where you will be if you let your guard down these days.
