I remember once in late grade school we took a trip from Garibaldi, OR up to I believe Nehalem of all places where they had installed some sort of holocaust memorial (I could be missremembering) but there was a survivor there who talked to us- nothing stands out in my mind other than just the general field trip experiance, we certainly weren't gifted with much more than some Ann Frank displays and talk of being locked away in camps with little food. I honestly don't ever recall any numbers ever being taught to us, certainly the 6 million bit was only something I heard of much later. I knew starvation and such, imprisonment of jews, gypsies and niggers. But all my "modern" knowledge of it came from things like schindlers list. My grandmother who was in Hitler Youth would sometimes over drink and never said a word about any kind of camps but remarked somewhat fondly of the horse meat they eventually had to eat and would shed tears as she related the terror of the bombings and continued starvation. If there truly are things like yearly talks of the holocaust outside of general WW2 units, and things like so-called holocaust class as we've seen mentioned I fear terribly for what they are trying to do to the younger amoung us and my own children. The fact the propaganda has been perpetuated and intensified (if it has, my children are still quite young) then it should illustrate the nature of this lie. There is no reason to change the nature and intensity of the teachings, just like their is no reason early encyclopedias and dictionaries after the war never mentioned the holocaust with a capital H.
