I mean look at the lesser shitholes the US is struggling with to begin with, vietnam also was "no match", and we all know how that went for a trainload of different reasons, ranging from domestic politics, to geopolitics, to the fact that you have to cross a fucking ocean to just send one dude over there etc

You can't compare today's army techs and weapons with decades old ones. They have greatly improved since.

They have improved so greatly a war that was supposed to be a done deal against mere shitholes is still ongoing since almost 20 fucking years now, with no end in sight
It's not only a matter of tech, OBVIOUSLY, never has been, look at vietnam they had barely any tech, no tanks, no navy, no bombers, no jets, no artillery
