Part of me thinks he is throwing this out there knowing a deal with the dems is unreachable. Then he can claim he was the one willing to make a deal while the dems were unwilling to negotiate.

or he knows Dems don't give a damn about DACA recipients (many of them are getting redpilled everyday) anymore and want a newly/freshly imported voter base.

Either way it is an opportunity for him to look good to them without having to change the law. But the downside is you have people like Ann Coulter raging, could cost him support from his base if they aren't watching the long game.
