Thanks. The press has always been somewhat corrupt.

"His master's voice" that's what the press is

Hitler was right

https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Adolf_Hitler%27s_Speech_to_the_Workers_of_Berlin_(10_December_1940)

>In reality, every one of the newspapers has a master, and in every case this master is the capitalist, the owner. This master, not the editor, is the one who directs the policy of the paper. If the editor tries to write other than what suits the master, he is ousted the next day. This press, which is the absolutely submissive and characterless slave of the owners, molds public opinion. Public opinion thus mobilized by them is, in its turn, split up into political parties. The difference between these parties is as small as it formerly was in Germany. You know them, of course - the old parties. They were always one and the same.

...

To this day, the above still remains very, very, very true

And I'm not attacking capitalism here, to be clear

Capitalism isn't an ideology, it often has been opposed to communism, but that's an error. Communism is an ideology, capitalism is an economic system, that's two different thing. Communism is an instruction manual, while capitalism is a tool, an engine if you will

Look at china, it's mostly communist ideologically speaking (while it's not a great idea to dig up mao these days... https://www.hongkongfp.com/2018/12/27/china-arrests-marxist-student-leader-celebrating-maos-birthday/ mostly because the ruling party is now in the hot seat, from a marxist pov... But I digress) and for everyday life, it's mostly capitalist, money talks in china

Thanks. Wonder how long the speeches will remain readable on wiki?
