It's not even a fair comparison. Donald Trump was the Republican candidate. Joe Biden is some loser that isn't going to make it out of the primary. Joe Biden actually did something illegal. Donald Trump was illegally investigated based on zero evidence / fabricated evidence.

It's not but if you are looking for an excuse then I guess you could say that Donald Trump is up for re-election and Biden was a potential challenger. Obama on the other hand was on his second term and was not set to run against Trump.
