I recently responded to that sort of comment (who will pick the crops?) with an answer I saw elsewhere.

"You're okay with de-facto slave labor if your salad is cheap. Got it."

The conversation ended there.

The perfect thing for this Thanksgiving when the liberal family members bring up stupid shit like "Who will pick the crops, Who will mow your lawn".

Throw it right back in their face. I do not agree about doing this at family gatherings but if they are the one to bring it up then the gloves are off.
