I have read the theory that this is so Trump can start legally amassing campaign money ahead of time while allowing his donors to not be doxxed. I am watching how the credit card companies are assisting with off-the-books gun registries based upon purchases. It isn't even necessarily an issue of whether or not to trust Trump, but a question of what the credit lenders will do with the info.
