.... US. school system is disaster. Don't know for China, but when compare education in my country with EU and US. I really don't know what to think. I get that they are teaching crt and gender crap in schools however, i doubt chinese are teaching multivariable calculus at third grade. Atleast no more than we in the US are at some private school for gifted children. Ever done multivariable calculus? You need solid foundation in core mathemathics including algebra, arithmetic, geometry, and trigonometry. Good luck cramming all that shit in by the age of 9 in addition to language classes, history, geography, science and much more. Then retaining the information after.

in the same way you need a fundamental and working knowledge of arithmetic in order to learn and perform algebra, you need to understand algebra, geometry, and trigonometry at a similar level for multivariable calculus.

i doubt 3rd grade chinks are seriously excelling here.
