Let this remind you folks how stupid the argument is that "paper ballots are secure."
They are not.
The only type of secure voting is secure electronic voting that passes existing known, open, standards. You can't spoof the best of secure blockchains even with all of the world's computers running for 50 trillion years. Stop buying the boomer argument that paper ballots are king. 2020 should have been the wakeup call that you can bus in tens of thousands of votes. With secure electronic voting (not electronic voting, actual secure electronic voting), you can't sneak a single fraudulent vote through the door (fraud happens only at the registration level which just cannot be solved, ever, due to the nature of trickery).
If we start publicly executing each mule for treason, I think that would be a nice step towards making paper ballots great again!

While it would feel good, what we'd end up doing is creating a set of super criminals who make it impossible to figure out that they are stealing the election. Capital punishment is what you use when there is no chance to rehabilitate or the crimes are so heinous that society is unwilling to rehabilitate the criminal for reintegration. AKA, someone like Ed Gein. You don't do it to deter, you do it to remove a burden from the system that is unnecessary or even unwanted.
Technically, I'd be a capital punishment candidate in an Muslim country because of some of my beliefs. No chance killing me would deter others who hold my same beliefs (such as you). In fact, it may strengthen your resolve because one of your brother died for an evil cause.
