According to the data, Planned Parenthood prevents far more abortions than it does create abortions.
How do you guys feel about data like that?
Put it a different way:
If Planned Parenthood , if we get rid of planned parenthood, the number of babies created is definitely going to skyrocket and the number of abortions performed by not-Planned Parenthood is also going to skyrocket. But we all know it won't be 1 for 1 - 36 million women aren't going to have abortions just because they have an unwanted pregnancy.
Let's pretend...it's 2 million. Could be far more. But getting rid of planned parenthood would cause abortions to skyrocket from 360K to 2,000K. So those folks who supported getting rid of planned parenthood would be indirectly responsible for killing 1,640K babies.
Would you make that decision knowing this?
I wouldn't.
So here's what I would propose: increase contraceptives funding for planned parenthood and leave abortions to private- only medical institutions. Meaning, we increase that 36 million number and get rid of that 360K abortions number. Taxpayer dollars should DEFINITELY be used to get poor women free contraceptives - that's among the absolute most efficient ways to spend tax dollars because it prevents a shitload of single mothers which spend magnitudes more of tax payer dollars once they have the kids. "An ounce of prevention is a pound of cure."
You're making a logical error by assuming humans would maintain the same risky behavior if abortion was more difficult to access.
They would and do. We know this from countries without access from abortion.
Put simply: humans will continue to fuck each other like animals regardless of abortion access.
