I thought the point of memes was like it's an inside joke of sorts.
The aim of a meme is to grant "an idea" within culture the ability for replication in order to pass from generation to generation without genes; it should be seen similar to the relationship between genes and genetics. Hence the name meme for memetics.
The thing is, most will gloat over the spelling air.
