Don't even get me started with sneaky packaging. I remember when bacon came in standard 1lb packs. All of a sudden, it's hard to find packs that aren't 0.77lbs, unless you go to costco.

If you live close enough to an Amish/Mennonite grocery store they are an amazing deal. In addition to cheap fresh produce they get stuff like dented soup cans and frozen meat once it hits expiration date. Not for everyone but I don't notice a difference and my shopping trip costs basically half what it used to.
