I just now realized... if they can manufacture sufficient fraudulent votes to carry the communists to victory, they can just as easily manufacture the other side's votes. This would primarily serve to maintain the "aw, shucks, vote harder next time!" narrative that keeps citizens from nope-ing out.

You are beginning to understand why they are waylaying trump so hard right now, he will dismantle the bulk of their power but if they don't give the right a win they will have a civil war on their hands from over frustrating the masses, it's why in Britain the parties are flipping on their rhetoric, the conservatives there have been instituting ultra leftism for over a decade and now the left can't go that way any further without creating homebrew freedom fighters and the current so called conservatives are utterly unelectable so the left is assuming the mantle of feigned conservatism to keep the game up.
