A fourth January 6 Defendant has died of possible suicide (cause of death not yet disclosed)
Nejourde "Jord" Meacham, 22, died August 28, 2023 after an August 15 appearance before a federal judge for 4 non-violent misdemeanors. He simply carried a Trump flag into the Capitol building, stayed for nine minutes, and was escorted out.
Matthew Perna, 37, of Pennsylvania, committed suicide in 2022 shortly before his sentencing to be held on April 1, 2022.
Mark Aungst, 47, of Pennsylvania, killed himself in 2022 ahead of sentencing.
Christopher Stanton Georgia, 53, of Georgia, died by suicide in early 2021 shortly after being arrested for entering the Capitol.
None of the men were accused of violent crimes.
