Hoot and cry, screech and fly,
Silent hunters in the night.
Cat with wings, makes a nest,
Stalker, hunter, while prey does rest.

Full moon, first quart, last quarter, crescent.
New moon or none the owl works regardless.
Night friend, day sleeper, never obsolescent.
Imagination of man captured regardless.

Feathers and bone, beak and eyes,
Legend says they are wise.
Feet with talons made to grip,
Perhaps that wisdom wouldn’t slip.

In barns and trees and places high,
An animal of the great sky.
Of mystery, story, legend and tale,
It’s history will forever prevail.
