I made homemade sauerkraut for the first time and it is the absolute best sauerkraut I've ever had. I used caraway seeds, mustard seeds, pickling salt, and juniper berries.

I haven't had my cousin's cousin's sauerkraut, yet. He's actually from Germany. His will probably blow mine out of the water.

Blaukraut? I haven't really developed a taste for fermented food. I eat it because it is healthy, but only really because. I have begun to appreciate kraut as a condiment to sausage.

If you have some tasty sauerkraut it tastes good with beef and pork. I've never particularly cared for store bought sauerkraut.
