Since a couple of days, I can't access Poal.co on my computer unless I use a VPN, which was not needed previously. I tried LibreWolf and Edge and none of these browsers will connect and they give a timeout message. Ping in a terminal doesn't work either; it gives me an IP in the Neederlands [23.137.249.180]. My PC is connected by cable to the modem and there is nothing in the setting of the modem that should block any web site.

I can connect with my phone but only if I use the data plan; if I use the WiFi from my modem, the page won't load.

I don't have any issue with vid8.poal.co and chat.poal.co I am located in Belgium.

Do you guys have any idea what could be the problem? Is there another IP that I can try?

Your IP has been blocked (about 3 days ago) because Poal's anti-flood protection detected an attack coming from it.

This can happen because ISPs will always share a same IP between multiple accounts (to save IP allocation and money), and someone with an infected computer (part of a botnet) has been flooding Poal with invalid requests.

I removed your IP from the block list.

If it happens again, turn your modem off for about 10 minutes and restart it. It will get a different IP.

Thanks, boss.

Sounds like your ISP might be filtering IPs if you can't get a ping to work.

But my phone data plan and fiber modem are from the same provider, that's what I don't understand. Shouldn't it be blocked both?

It would seem so, but their could be very different infrastructure and network configurations between the two networks. The cellular network is probably not even owned by your provider unless they are one of the major carriers. That could explain the differences if they are simply using a big carrier's cellular infrastructure under their own brand.

Cellular data infrastructures use different IP pools compared to broadband.

Did you parse through your post or comment history really quickly? Or through the listing of subs available on the left sidebar of the main page??

Rapid/repeated requests for data from the same IP address can be treated as a hostile intent and get blocked for a while.

I've done that twice searching for old posts. You have to watch the OCD.

I don't recall doing such a thing. I'll shutdown my modem when I go to bed, maybe I'll have a new IP tomorrow and I'll try again.
