Interesting idea. We would still need the ability to delete posts due to illegal content and spam, but I do like the idea of a "recycle bin" of sorts. Putting a link to it next to /all/ and /new/ would keep it visible and maybe make it more likely that there will always be a few users who are paying attention to what's being removed.
Anything that ends up in there could also be tagged in the title which sub it was removed from.
could also kick them not just to "recycle bin" subverses but on the deletion dialogue you can suggest subverses for it to land in (i.e., "kick to /v/texas") and I'd be able to "adopt" it
you could also "adopt" posts out of recycle bin
Leaving it up to the mods to adopt posts out of the bin would prevent some abuse of the function. But then that takes away the choice of the user on where they want there posts to end up. There would need to be concensus between the user and the mod, otherwise rogue mods could fuck with a well known users reputation by taking a post they made and sending it to s/porn or s/jailbait (extreme examples).
