I'm not sure if you're aware or not, but Phuks has a built in file image processor (for lack of a better description - like imgoat, kek). It only kicks in there when you reach a higher level ... I think it's 22, but I forget exactly. Anyway, instead of having to run an image in kek or imgoat, it has a button within the link posts at the bottom, beneath the URL, that allows you to push it, select an image from your desktop, add a title, as normal, and then just post the image. No fuss, no muss.

Now I'm not sure why Phuks waits till level 22 to allow users to use this, possibly it uses a lot of resource space, or whatever. And it is a relatively new feature there. But it would be a great feature to consider on Poal, if not already available when users reach a certain points milestone.

possibly it uses a lot of resource space

That's the correct answer.

(correct me if I'm wrong) came up with a much better idea, it's called http://picinfinity.co and when you submit an image or a link to it, it will upload it to several image hosting services and will later serve the one that will have the fastest ping/availability. That way images will never get lost like when slimgr went down and thousands of post became useless on voat.

Spot on.

The best part about it is that I don't have to host any of the images my self. So it's almost nothing, cost-wise, to host 1,000 images or 1,000,000 images. That, and since picinfinity doesn't serve the images, only the links to them, it's very light on bandwidth.

Can't wait to see the new UI! Your faggot badge is waiting.

Lol, don't hold your breath. Probably won't be up until next week--out this weekend :/

I'm absolute shit with js and django (never used either before I started making the site).

Sorry, my faggot. I know you're excited to see your work in use, but sadly I'm a raging homosexual and thus am unable to work quickly.

Wait we are doing badges now?

Cool, I was pretty sure there would be a catch resource wise. A neat feature though. I'll look at thge one you mentioned. Thanks.

Poal also has that feature (enabled for admins and accounts with a certain level), but it comes with a cost. Hosting/serving images for free will increase poal's running cost.

Makes sense to me. I just wasn't sure if you were aware of it, since it's relatively new on Phuks, but likely somewhere nested in your code. I'm cool without it, BTW. No point pushing something that makes site operation any more costly IMHO.
