NEW GAY MODE!

[–] 11 pts

The top 200 web sites for 20 years straight, are all BLACK text atop WHITE :

https://www.alexa.com/topsites

See?

It is probably because in all studies humans read fastest in comprehension timed tests using Black atop White.

https://www.laurenscharff.com/research/survreslts.html

Science is science, and it is a fact that humans read fastest using black text, and prefer to visit web sites that insist on black body text.

So I didnt come to poal to speed read.

Pff, humans!

What fools these mortals be!

Humans? The low pressure sodium "yellow tinge" street lights are meant for CCD "charge couple device" robot and cyber vision sensors in big cities and are harder for humans to see for the amount of photons emitted at that wavelength. Human "rods" in retina, have peak sensitivity at blue-ish moonlight.

Some tourist cities (San Francisco, etc) use more expensive fuller spectrum high pressure street lights, and do not care as much about autonomous car and truck technologies.

The politics of light frequencies used at night time are very charged. Crime cameras, astronomy, autonomous vehicle, human happiness, green flora enjoyment, flying insects, cost, electricity cost, bulb life, etc etc.

But it is ultimately a battle of HUMAN VISION vs digital CCD sensor vision.

I have always preferred white text on black backgrounds, because it reduces power consumption on AMOLED displays and hurts the eyes far less.

Still, in reading comprehension timed tests, you would read faster with black text.

Also, if you ran a web site, it would wither and die and never be a top 200 web site, as all the top 200 are all black text atop white for body text.

Humans? faggots that take part in these studies are normies not 1337 power haxxors like us

The subjects are always liberal art college freshmen and sophomore right handed MALES.

in fact most timed response studies on earth, all science papers, use males only, right handed MALES, and all within a few years of range, for reproduce-ability and avoidance of effects of period hormones.

I dont know why left handed males are universally excluded.

Programmers sit in front of a screen all day, need to read through often huge files of exact quasi-mathematical expressions in a non-human language, and are have the technical skills to choose the kind of colorscheme and fontset they like the most. They usually choose dark background, bright text, and a monospace-font with serifs. Presumably, because they think, that this maximizes readability.

I think that daymode is gay at the moment, because it lacks contrast, but I guess it could be made to look good. Most of the pages I make are black on white too. But I guess that's because webdesign is still heavily influenced by print layout, and not, because it's so much better. Besides, design and readability aren't the same thing.

Yep. like one of those nice amber monochrome monitors that used to cost so much. Remember how those fancy new amber monochromes cost more than those dumb old green ones? I was one of those idiots that went for the amber. Now I realise that green was always better; I have my console set to green text on dark [but not black] background.

Not most macintosh or windows programmers that I ever met.

Its white backgrounds, black fonts, for 80%.

Expert coders use proportional fonts, for higher speed legibility as well, but do insist on serifs, and "coding fonts" with extra serifs.

I use VS code for many reasons but mainly because I like the colors

^ Likes his old gay mode. Is sticking with it.

[–] 0 pt

Old gay mode kept it's faggotry as secret as it could. I agree, that was much better!

I changed it immediately. It's easy to see dark in the evening. Eyes and teeth light it up.
