I use private tabs, and every time I log in poal is in day mode. Maybe you could put a preference in the settings and save it somewhere in the db.

Something else to consider for night mode is to lighten up the grey text a bit. I can read it on desktop, but when I'm looking at Poal from my phone, I find it difficult to see and read.

Yea, the color of the text on the buttons in the side bar would probably work fine.
