Wouldnt that get old, if everyone who thought shitposters sucked dicks, always commented just to say that? Thats what downvotes are for, but thats "not what they are for". So things get blocked, which removes the negative opinion and leaves only the positive opinion of the other shitheads.

I cant help but totally disagree with your premise. Downvotes are not censorship in any way. You want different ways to sort posts, your idea of total votes is more like a "hot" or "controversial" sorting option. And thats all cool. But downvotes are not censorship or a hecklers veto, its just public opinion equal to "boo you suck" which is a valid opinion to share, easily expressed by downvoting.
If downvotes automagically deleted a post, thatd be censorship, if mods deleted posts just because they got downvoted, thats censorship, a post reaching negative value and remaining exactly where it started on the sort by new page, thats not censorship
It's a form of heckeler's veto through burying it in negative points.
It also contributes to the formation of echo Chambers and prevents Poal from being a "bubble buster."
