Kind of a way to differentiate Poal from Phuks and Voat.

Generate a clickable thumbnail in the same way thumbnails are generated when you post a topic. Expands when clicked. Sort of 4chan style, except a link to something other than an image will just open the page up.

I'm thinking this could be done three ways. One, a link placed in the first line of the comment section will generate a thumbnail. Two, create a tag that you place around the link. Poal then looks for the first instance of that tag. Three, create a field next to the comment text field a la chan boards.

Could be a bad idea. Could be fun. It might help us develop our own meme culture.

One thing to consider as said, is that then people can post CP and jeopardize wherever that thumbnail is stored. There's a reason Voat does not actually save or host any images, videos etc. All it has is txt links. Designed that way per Atko a few years ago....

4chan and 8chan would of shut down years ago if there was nothing protecting them from that kind of attack.

We need tools to quickly remove that shit.

That's already a possibility with the way posts are displayed. That kind of crap can be mitigated with an account option to disable thumbnails and blocking users.

Edit: Disabling thumbnails would be a good feature to have anyway to save data for mobile users.

I kind of like it. Would be interesting to implement. May effect load time of the comment sections but not too much.

We would need a report button (available only for users with a certain level to avoid abuse from new troll accounts).
