Personally I think it’s necessary, but I could see how this could create issues down the line.

Who decides which users are acting in bad faith? If IDing alts is fair game, then what else?

IMO it’s easily justifiable when the user in question is hystereichal. I’ve been calling out his alts on sight and it’s been fun watching him seethe every time his game is uncovered. But is an admin doing it an unfair advantage?

I did. You made a claim about a new account being someone without having the data, and I confirmed it was incorrect.
