Apparently, the train could have been safely stopped using a voice command. He told the bosses if he says the n-word the train would safely stop, but the bosses considered that worse than poisoning 10+ million people. Therefore, they told him to just fly away.

I get told to fly away quite often. Actually, it's more along the lines of "Piss off, you stupid bird," but you get the idea.
