Reddit started out as a platform for intellectuals to discuss honed hobbies. It quickly developed in to your hipster outlet for neat niches teenage nerds and their faggot friends circle-jerked over. Then it got a little more popular (due to... certain influences) and started to get kinda cool for a little while. Unfortunately, it turned in to a division hub for Mockingbird faggots around 2012ish or maybe just before. I remember back in 2010ish you could discuss shit like BTC with people that actually knew what it was for, for instance.
I briefly tried to check it out again for specific hobbies/interests maybe 2015ish and again in 2017ish. It was entirely unbearable. .
