Personality plays a huge role in successful decision making.

First people are filled with doubt and hesitation. "He who hesitates is lost." Most people miss opportunity because they are unable to strike while the iron is hot, due to lack of confidence.

Point being, genetics determine personality and you can check out the very unethical separated twin studies to have an idea to what extent.

Specifically, intelligence does not have nearly as much to do with successful decision making as confidence does.

How about the correlation between credit score and IQ. Everyone makes mistakes. More intelligent people are better equipped to deal with them.

My credit score was total shit. I've never had debt, though. Magically, the score became a perfect score after a couple of years of owning my car and home, outright. I paid cash for them. Now, my credit score is totally useless, despite it being at 850.

Yes. Having higher IQ is helpful, but a credit score rates people who are smart enough to make money but dumb enough to always owe money.

A very smart person with a victim mentality is much easier to financially abuse than an average iq person with a confident mentality.
