Well according to a quick search the main difference between a lake and a pond is that a pond is shallow enough for sunlight to reach the bottom across its entire area (allowing plants to grow throughout), while a lake is deeper with zones where sunlight does not penetrate (creating distinct ecological layers and limiting bottom plant growth to the edges).
So nob way to know without knowing the depth I guess.
