I have no idea, and it is really bothering me. @ThisismyRealName said Persimmons, but I am not sure , they don't quite match up with the early fruiting. My current best guess is that it is some sort of Hawthorn, but that doesn't exactly match up, either.  I am also really curious as to what the fungus/rot is; if I wasn't so seriously banned from Reddit I would post this there.
