It was a much simpler time. And girls were girls, AIDS didn't exist, we had our whole lives ahead of us, we felt invincible!
The young women I dated used to be fascinated by my hands. They said I had "man hands"; rough, callusy, vien popping big mitts. Most of the guys my age still had soft hands I guess. I snagged a few nylons in my day. :o)

Never have I heard such a boomer way of saying "I grabbed her by the pussy"
My girl friend made me wear gloves when we fucked. My hands were too rough
Lol, until my recent condition slowed me down considerably, the nearly fifty years of doing masonry and mining without ever wearing gloves my hands were one big rough callus. Only met one guy that I shook hands with that had hands as hard and rough as mine. It was funny, we both looked at each other like what the fuck! I had met him at a rendezvous, he was there skinning a mountain of long ass pine poles from Canada for teepee poles. Definitely lots of fabrics that women wear you learned best not to touch!
Im still invincible, My hands never get callouses though.
After about 25 y/o, I'd only get a few calluses on my hands in the winter from snowmobiling. I used to ride'm fast and hard. Other than that, only the occasional blister from raking or splitting wood with a maul.
I dont know why I never do, even digging post holes manually,
